  1. COMPLAINT REGARDING ABUSE OF POWER BY MEN AND OFFICERS OF NIGERIAN POLICE IN "IGBOGBO" DIVISIONAL POLICE STATION IKORODU, LAGOS STATE.
Good day, this is to call the attention of the Nigerian Police to the indiscriminate and unlawful arrest of well meaning citizen of our dear nation irrespective of their societal status.
The most disturbing one is the high rate of indiscriminate arrest, detention in Police costudy for days, and forceful robbery of other citizens of their hard earn money in the name of bail.
I was arrested yesterday 3rd November, 2016 at a naval drink vendor shop in Morekete area of Ikorodu under the watch of IGBOGBO divisional police states for being jobless and drinking around 10:30am, I did explained to them that I am a University graduate with B.Tech honor in ICT and that I have served my country Nigeria as NYSC member, presently am a PGD student of Criminology and Security study at Nation open university of Ngeria, I respect the law too and told them I was there to take some hardball drink and smoke cigarette since I recently quite my job in search for a better offer. They insisted and got me arrest along side some other boys. I detained till this morning, the sum of N10,000 was requested for my bail and my family said bail is free before I was released.
My concern is that I met a good number of people in the cell who were also arrested from various locations too who claimed to be walking down the street and where asked to pay some money for bail.
Am not trying to prevent the Police from carrying out their civic duty rather am only trying to suggest a surveillance team to investigate such unlawful arrest and demand of money for bail, because I found out that lots of Nigerians can't defend themselves and will end up as victim of circumstance.
Kindly use the appropriate measure to bring the corrupt men and officers of the Nigerian Police involved to book as fast as you could because their actions is worse than that of the criminals they are expected to protect us from.

I stand to be verified and contacted for details if needed.
    Regards.
    Emmanuel Oluwasegun Jolayemi.
