In Nigeria, except for defence of human life or public interest, it is an offence to kill a Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Royal Python, Whale, Elephant, Vulture etc

PENALTY
N1,000,000 to 5,000,000 fine.

Section 5 of the Endangered Species Act 2016.
